Drunken brawls and non-drunken brawls, all coated with vomit and blood.
The Cafeteria, known unofficially as Roland's, is the station's bar and eatery. Much to the janitor's lament, the bar tends to be the second most filthy place on the station after the medbay, for two reasons
The first is the simple fact that this place serves alcohol. Inevitably, someone will drink more than their fill and/or try one of the especially hard liquors and thus outbibe what they imbibed, spewing vomit all over the place.
The second is all the fights that break out here, and the resulting blood that spills. Fights break out everywhere of course, but this is relatively public, so fights tend to happen here more often because there's more people. Moreover, during said fights, people often throw drinkware at each other and break plates over each others' heads, creating glass shards that then get used to slice people. Also, many bar brawlers often slam/throw their opponents onto the glass tables to delivery a highly incapacitating glass bath that soon turns into a literal blood bath.
In less violent times, you can still expect some good service and entertainment. The cocktails are fine, as is the espresso, and there is still some okayish food from the snack dispenser if the Chef's cuisine is lacking. And no matter what you eat or drink, you can still play some darts, watch some TV, buy some cigs, or just sit on a stool and chat.
Maintenance Information
The West Air Hookup/West Electrical Substation can directly resupply air into this area, via the vent in the middle of all the stools.
The APC for this area is in North Solar Maintenance, above the Bartender's office and Catering Storage.

Eat, drink, play! | |
Welcome to the original Roland's Bar & Space Casino! There are many other bars that call themselves Roland's, of course, but as the Bar/Cafeteria in the northern parts of Cog1 below Arrivals, we've been here the longest, from 2013 to 2015, and then 2017 and onward. That's four years and counting, baby.
What's kept us going so strong for so long? It's our great food and drinks. Not only do we have exquisite, galaxy-class cuisine made by our team of elite Chefs in their Kitchen, but we also host a state of the art mixology suite that includes an alcohol dispenser, soda fountain, chemical dispenser, and so much more. Because of our commitment to options, our Bartender can concoct any drink you can imagine--make it even better than your imagination could. You can even use the equipment yourself if you're not satistfied--if you ask nicely, of course.
For those less strongly inclined towards strong drinks, the vending machine nearby can dispense coffee, hot chocolate, weight-loss shakes, and even chicken soup. Just outside, you'll find machines that sell mineral water and a variety of space-famous sodas. It's all for a fair price, of course.
For entertainment, we have a similarly vast variety of options. You can throw darts. You can watch quality television. You can smoke some cigs from the cig machine. You can chat with friends over the public phone. You can play a chess or checkers on the game board. Most importantly, you can spin our iconic slot machines in the lower level. Don't be shy. The odds are in your favor, and the house is generous.
Maintenance Information
Air in this area can be resupplied by a connector port in the Port Emergency Air Hookup.
The APC for this room is in the top left corner, near the window facing the Gym.

The ship's bar and eatery. It is home to the Bartender and is where the Chef serves food. If these two are more interested in getting drunk, you could always watch the TV which hooks into a few camera feeds, play the piano, gamble, or play board games. Remember to bring a pizza from the vending machine outside the Hydroponics for maximum insult. Much to the janitor's lament, the bar tends to be the second most filthy place on the station after the Medbay.

This is Roland's, the ship's bar and eatery and occasional theater depending on the Clown or Mime and general alcohol levels of the crew. It is home to the Bartender and is where the Chef serves food. If these two are more interested in getting drunk, you could always watch the TV which hooks into a few camera feeds, sing a few show tunes, get a fortune from Zaldorf, gamble, or play some card games. Much to the janitor's lament, the bar tends to be the second most filthy place on the station after the Medbay.

This isn't Roland, this is The Bar with No Name, since it has no sign saying what the bar's name is. It's probably Mia or something, but it could also be the Maltese Falcon, the Mos Eisley Cantina, the Korova Milk Bar, VA-11 HALL-A, who knows. Or maybe, it's still Roland's Bar and Casino, it's just that some numbskull forgot/stole the sign.
Anyways, the Bar is home to the Bartender and is where the Chef serves food. If these two are more interested in getting drunk, you could always smoke the good stuff with the Botanists, smoke some Pro-Puffs if there's more of your thing, get a fortune from Zaldorf, gamble, or play some dice games. Much to the janitor's lament, the bar tends to be the second most filthy place on the station after the Medbay.

Space Adult Hunger Force HQ.
Hunger and thirst ravage space-farers in even the oldest and most venerable corners of space. Mushroom Station's Cafeteria is one among many fronts where this eternal battle is fought, primarily by the tag-team Bartender and Chef, their sidekicks Mr. Muggles and ???? (nicknamed Horse Horsington), and their occasional ally Waiter. This courageous duo work to their fullest to keep the crew's stomaches from going empty.
It is an arduous task. Sometimes, they must flip one of the switches behind the counter to open the VIP room, just so that the hunger-stricken may forget about their dire condition through song and slots--if only temporarily.
Their neighbors, the lotus-eating Botanists, live just nearby, close yet separated by a shutter. Sometimes, the Chef or the Botanists themselves may lift the shutter and open up their little island, Hydroponics, to the outside world, largely to spread their cult of the sacred flames.

Inmates' lunchroom | |
The Bar is where the inmates of Donut 2 go to chow on a snack or get a drink. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of donuts here, but there is a very lovely loaf of pumpkinbread to munch on. If the Chef's around, you might even get some more of it. They're one of the crazies too, though, and you might instead see their latest eldritch sandwich obsession on display. Bartender's usually a bit saner, though if you take one of their drinks or "homemade medicines", and it gets you 11 kinds of drunk/dead/poisoned/on fire, they're technically not at fault.
On the south side on this room, there's a wooden table for the local Botanists to offer their produce on. It usually won't kill you, per se, but if you decide it's good idea to smoke one of their "medicinal herbs", you might just find a high that'll make you wish you were six feet under.
If the idea of death awaiting behind every bite/sip/smoke you take doesn't appeal to you, don't fret. Just take a candy bar or bag of chips from the orange-red snack machine. If you're feeling lucky, you could try your hand at getting a Golden Ticket from one of those Discount Dan's products. It won't get you a trip out of this stupid asylum, but it'll give you some nice luxury foods that'll make your stay a bit more bearable.
Maintenance Information
There is no vent. The atmosphere here is pretty horrendous when the local tourbot isn't here.

Last bastion of sanity.
When you're living on the scrappy little rock that is the Chiron Outpost, there's certain luxuries that become necessities for sanity and survival. Case in point: this Bar area, which functions as the station's local eatery. Most people don't actually eat or drink anything from here; they're all too scared that the station's Chef or Bartender has poisoned the foods/drinks. Nor do they use the VR Pods; they're too scared someone will eat/drain/mutilate them while they're playing.
Still, that doesn't stop them from finding hospitality, or at least some indescribable sense of familiarity, in this place, however wholesome. That's why it's near the Arrivals area. There's something oddly welcoming about this place that makes new recruits feel at home, even when its proprietors are intent on making it a slaughterhouse.

There is no vent. This place must have terrible atmosphere.

Underwater everything.
This Bar in the west side of the station is a special underwater branch of the Roland's Bar & Casino chain. That means it's exactly like a regular bar, except whatever you do in here, you can claim you did it...underwater. You can eat sushi and cream pie sandwiches...underwater. You can get drunk...underwater. You can throw darts...underwater. You can play slots and lose all your money...underwater. You can break the plasmaglass window and go underwater...underwater.
Maintenance Information
There is no vent. The atmosphere of this bar is fine regardless.

Pinnacle of Civilechian cuisine.
This Cafeteria in the rough center of Atlas is the capital of Civilechia and the center of its vibrant food industry. One can find a variety of foods and drinks from a variety of space cultures, from Space Sweden to Space Scotland to Space Mexico. On a good day, you can even sample Civilechia's own brand of cuisine and its unique layering and blending of flavors. Non-foodies can partake in Civilechia's only government-sanctioned slot machine and enjoy pieces from the Civilechian Symphonic Orchestra from the jukebox.
The Civilechian Bartender and Chef can also enjoy the ingenuity of Civilechian architecture, simply by finding their workplace. To access the staff areas, they must:
- Go through Atlas's corridors right past Secstotzka and north past Chapel to Escape Shuttle Hallway.
- Enter the grey maintenance airlock on their left, even though they are normally not allowed into such airlocks, especially not the exact same one on their right.
- After a few paces, they will find two more maintenance airlocks of identical appearance. Both will lead to Kitchen and thus Cafeteria.
Such is life in Civilechia. Of course, Civilechian architects did not and still do not anticipate those Grabbing an nearby bystander, throwing them upon the table, and then flipping to leapfrog onto said table.
Maintenance Information
There is no vent. Lack of vents is a common theme in Civilechian culinary practice, and it is partially the result of Civilechia's defeat in the Great Vent War with Scientopia/Researchica.
This area has two APCs, and both control the same lighting, doors, and machines. One is on the right wall behind the bar table, while the other is in front of the stools in front of the bar table, also on the right wall.

The good tide. | |
Here's a kind of tide that's better than the grey kind: the Rising Tide bar in the center of the NSS Manta. This restaurant and casino is easily identifiable by the unique welcome mats at both its entrances, the wooden steering wheels that adorn its walls, and the distinct wooden flooring that harkens back to the days of wooden ships and iron men.
Like to gamble and play games? You won't be disappointed. Not only are there slot machines in the left and a dartboard and card tables on the right, but, unique to this ship, there is an actual, functioning roulette table. Just place your bets somewhere, click on the machine, and it'll roll a number and a color; it's that easy! If you need dice or extra cards, there's a crate full of them right by it.
Need some entertainment? There's jukebox with fabulous ULTRALOUNGE tunes in the center, which is also near some tables for couples, trios, and happy singles. Depending on the day, you might see some five-star performers on the stage, such as a virtuoso pianist or a top comedian.
If you like to light up, don't forget about the cigarette machine by the slots. As you take drag on your favorite cigarette, take a moment to read the nearby plaque and remember Lt. Emily Claire. Not only did she sacrifice her life to detonate a nuclear charge to save the ship from a hostile robo-alien takeover, she also sacrificed several paychecks to pay for her heavy chain-smoking habit. Be like her and light up often!
Want a drink? Step up to the counter in the center (as it should be!), take a seat at a stool, and the ship's Bartender will hook you up. Go crazy! With this bar's alcohol and soda dispensers, full chemistry lab machine suite, including a chem dispenser, Booze-O-Mat machine, espresso machine, and choice collection of fine liquors that includes favorites such as Curacao, Terrific Tonic, and Stinkeye's, it's not hard to turn the cocktail of your dreams into a reality (provided the Bartender has the knowledge to, of course).
Craving a bite to eat? The chute on the bar counter provides food directly from the Kitchen to the bar, ensuring a steadily stream of delectable edibles.
In short, with all you need to eat, drink, and amuse yourself, it's the happiest place on the NSS Manta!

Farty party place. | |
Found conveniently near Escape and most of the Crew Quarters - a straight shot west from both of them - the Cafeteria is the perfect place for people with nowhere else to be to robust their sobriety and mess around with pals. There are several tables, slot machines, and a Zoldorf, just as any good cafeteria should. Obviously, the Bar is directly facing the place, and the shutters to the northwest open up when the Chef is ready to serve absurd poisons to the crew.
There's a cigarette machine if you step outside, but if you really want to mess up your health, you could smash yourself over the head with a plate - aim at your head with a plate on harm intent - if that's your sort of thing. Once your nerves are nice and steeled by good drink, there's an open mic - tell a joke, or belt out some lyrics. The clientele will love it. You can also take a trip to Virtual Reality through the adjacent Arcade, or stare into the Barbershop. Ever notice that Barbershop begins with Bar?
Maintenance Information
There is a vent, located centrally in the room. It's fed by a connector in maintenance directly to the east.
The APC for the main cafeteria is in the bottom-right corner - a bit more "bottom" than "right", since there's kinda two bottom-right corners - while the bar section's APC is on the west wall, by the door into the Bartender's quarters.
