The Databank Room is a parcel of flyover country that's the center of Atlas's regional TermOS and DWAINE network. With a few exceptions, most computer communications pass the through the mainframe in here in some way, which makes it all the more stranger that it's in some dark, decrepit corner below Engiers where most people don't have floor tiles. In fact, all that's left of this shell of the Mainframian Empire can be counted on two hands (maybe one if you lump some things together):
- One inexplicably fancy laptop.
- Disks and parts for exactly one terminal/heavy computer.
- The aforementioned mainframe and its databanks.
- A single quantum telescope and long range teleporter setup. (Turns out being an irrelevant shithole makes radio interference and light pollution issues practically non-existent.)
- A packet sniffer.
Still, Researchican/Scientopian pilgrims continue to flock to here, often to heal their teleporters of science or consult the quantum telescope of guidance on their long range teleportering quest. Minerians sometimes come to here to seek guidance too, but for asteroids the Mining Outpost magnet should seek.
Maintenance Information
There is no vent. Back in its empire days, it owned the region's only supply of vents and thus clouted much political power in the geopolitical stage. Then its leader slipped on a banana peel, triggering the Great Vent War that drastically disrupted the regional control of vents.
The APC for this area is in the bottom right, near the door. For some reason, it's called "Engineering Gas Storage".
