A dark room just north of Crew Quarters. There used to be a quantum telescope here, where you could play macro-polo with signals out in space against a jaw-droppingly beautiful galaxy for a backdrop, but it's moved on since then, and now spends its life finding asteroids with the Miners.
Still, when it comes to relaxation, there's nothing like sitting back and watching the stars twinkle in the majestic tapestry of space. It's a reminder that, no matter what horrible, despicable things are devastating the station, in the grand scheme of things, nothing has changed; the stars burn bright as ever, and the universe continues on. The stars will not go out just because some obese jelly has infested the entire station, or some ugly alien shapeshifter has consumed the entire crew, or some wandering hobo or random thug has killed everyone on board; nor the universe mind that, one minute there was a space station, and eight minutes later, it was gone. The stars will continue to shine, as they did then, as they do now, and as they will always do, till heat death cometh.
Really keeps your mind off of the changeling/vampire trying to suck your vital fluids out because of the notoriously bad Security Camera coverage in there.
Somewhere between the retirement of Cogmap1 and the introduction of Cogmap2, the Observatory died, while its child, Quantum telescope, packed up to live among the Miners. It went to some nebulous underworld for aiding and abetting so many unholy abominations, lost, abandoned, and mostly forgotten, till finally a group of sexy owls summoned it out so they could add it to their home, the Owlery. Since then, they've reunited with Quantum and now lives a significantly less gruesome life.
