Robots are taking over the world! They built a cyborg factory on the north end of Medbay, and they've enlisted two Roboticists to man it! That's right, two HUMAN Roboticists! How could they help instigate the end of the human race?

As it turns out, quite comfortably. As far as robotics workshops go, this is one of the better ones. The sideroom on the left is stocked with loads of metal sheets and wire to refill said fabricators, with a reclaimer just by its entrance.

While the Roboticists that staff it do build small helper robots and augment patients' eyes, arms, legs, hearts, and butts from time to time, their main duties are creating and maintaining the region's population of Cyborgs and AIs. Maintenance Information

There is no vent. Once, Medistani scientists put a vent into a robot body, only for it to kill two observers and then tear its own head off after activation. Higher-ups were quick to ban cyborg conversion of vents and then any vents in general just to be safe.

In the upper middle-ish of Manta above the general treatment area is Robotics, the workshop of the ship's Roboticists. Here, they can conduct augmentation surgery and manufacture and maintain Robots, Cyborgs, and AIs

The lower portion is primarily for caring for Cyborgs. There's a module rewriter so they can switch "jobs", some welding fuel and a toolbox for manual repairs, lots of power cells and a cell charger for manual battery replacement, and, most importantly, two cyborg docking stations where they can recharge and change their batteries, fix wiring and structural damage, put on clothes (kinda), and much more. The AI's cute lil eyebot/eggbot/minishells are also located here, and there's a Vendomat for manual robot construction.

The upper portion, connected to the lower by some stair tiles to imply elevation change, is more for replacing (ideally willing) crew members' limbs and other organs with superior robotic versions (or, failing that, fleshy copies.) Naturally, there's an operating table and surgical instruments for carrying out the required medical procedures, as well as medical masks and latex gloves for hygiene and first-aid and brute medkit for treating any resulting injuries without having to leave the room. This room also has a cargo transporter for receiving shipments from the Quartermasters and Miners and two robotics fabricators for manufacturing cyberorgans, cyborg parts, and much more.

The upper portion also has a little side room above it with crates of supplies. One crate has all the parts needed for a standard-strength cyborg save the battery and the brain unit, and while the other crates have metal sheets, glass sheets, and wire. Put them in the upper portion's reclaimer, activate it, then insert the resulting raw materials into the robotics fabricators to restock them.

Medical Director, Roboticist


The Robotics lab is the base of operations for the roboticist and cyborgs, located on the south side of Medbay. If the lab is covered in a grotty viscera of blood and gibs and stripped corpses are piling up, do not be concerned: this is an indicator that the roboticist is doing their job well. It features robotics manufacturers, tools necessary for brain surgery, a surgical bed, and docking stations to allow cyborgs to quickly recharge and accept modifications. In the maintenance tunnel to the south there is also a crate full of materials for cyborgs construction, along with a vending machine with some useful tools.
