This rather depressingly sparse on the right side of the Testing Asteroid is the Research Sector Construction Area. It was slated to be a maintenance area, but NanoTrasen ran out of money trying to cut on wiring costs for this room, so they couldn't afford to rename this place.
Not that it should stop you. Start your own construction project where NT's ended. Get some good comfy chairs and blankets here, put in some proper flooring, and you can have a nice fireside lounge. Best part--it makes electricity, not heat, so there's no risk of burning up. Or, light some char from the fuel crate, bring in some metal to build an improvised burn chamber and an air siphon to collect the resulting hot gases--now you've your own plasma research lab!
There's also some atmospherics equipment here. If you connect a canister of air to the connector port in this room, turn open the valve closest to the port, and then turn the one right above it, you'll pump in whatever gas was in the canister into the Test Chamber. If you want to dispose of the gas in the canister, instead of the valve right above it, you can instead turn open the valve right below, closest to the rock wall, and the gas will safely dissipate out of a vent in Space. Similarly, if you want to remove all the gas in Test Chamber, simply turn open the rightmost valve, connected to the pipes that make a sharp bend into a checker-tiled-room, which will vent the gases out into Space.
For less renovation- or atmospherics-minded types, there's a few other uses. If the Testing Asteroid seems low on power, you can fire up the furnace to generate some extra electricity or adjust the SMES unit settings. Finally, there's canister of oxygen and a PC for drawing ASCII bees.
Maintenance Information
While there's no vent here, you can totally just refill it with the aforementioned canister of oxygen.
The APC for this area is in the bottom right corner, over a table. You can reach it, trust us.
