Before electricity generated by the ship's thermo-electric generator can reach the rest of the station, it must first go through the East Electrical Substation below the control room. Here, two SMES units receive and send power at set limits, ensuring a safe and consistent output.
Surprisingly, there's a quite a bit more to this room than just power. It's also a storage room of sorts for a few odds and ends, with the most notable of them being a tank dispenser, spare insulated gloves, a closet of welders and welding helmets, two sets of engineering space suits, and two utility belts.
In addition, it's also an air hookup of sorts. By opening the valve on the pipe connected to either one of the reserve tanks or the connector port (assuming you've already wrenched a canister onto it) and then the valve associated with the area, you can resupply air to:
- The hallway between Medbay and Security.
- The lobby area outside Cargo.
- The engine room where the thermoelectric unit itself is kept.
- The Hot Loop.
Maintenance Information
This room has no vent. Ironic, isn't it? It can repressurize other areas...but not itself.
The APC for this room is in the top left.
