Befitting of its location in the center of the ship's Engineering section, the Inner Engineering area houses all the components of the singularity engine and, once set up, correctly or not, the singularity. In addition to the auxiliary entrance from the Engineering Control Room on the right, it has two main entrances in the north. One is connected to the right side of Engineering Break Room, one is connected to the left side of Engineering Storage, and both have a locker containing radiation equipment and some drugs to treat any radiation sickness.
The Singularity Core is in the middle, the centerpiece of it all. The lower left and right sides contain emitters, lasers used to power machines that contain the singularity, with a row of collection arrays and array controllers between them that harness its radiation. Both sides also have:
- Wrenches and lockers with welders to secure engine components.
- Tanks of welding fuel for refilling said welders.
- Tank dispensers with plasma tanks for the collection arrays.
- Racks with magnetic boots that can resist the singularity's gravitational pull.
Singularity Core
The glass partition where the singularity should be. Contains field generators that create forcefields that can contain the singularity and a Gravitional Singularity Generator, which collapses into a singularity once it's surrounded by a containment field of appropriate size. Once set up, the singularity will cause electrical interference, cause eye damage, irradiate you and drag everything towards it. Make sure you take the appropriate precautions.
Isn't it beautiful? Its purity and simplicity, eliminating everything it touches. But, we've gotten control over this beast. Perhaps it should be free...
...It hungers...
Maintenance Information
There is no vent. The singularity is already a big enough hole, why does this place need another?
The APC for this room is on the left/western side, near the racks.
