Check please! With a fancy white jumpsuit and black vest, the Waiter is a job only available as a Job of the Day on Wednesdays, although any old staffie could become one by donning a fitting outfit and begging the HOP for an ID change. In theory, waiters are meant to take the orders of people in the Bar, relaying them to the chef and bringing them their food once it's ready. In practice, everyone on the station and their dog subsides solely on donuts, Discount Dan's, and bodily fluids. If vending machines start turning up empty or people get sick of eating food with a small chance of food poisoning, it's usually practice for the Chef to place their food on the counter where anyone can scarf it down, free of charge.
All of this doesn't mean the waiter is entirely useless; you just have to think on a broader scope than the bar. Waiters can have some use as a food deliveryman, showing up to each department to dispense home-cooked meals. The crew would certainly enjoy eating something that isn't half MSG, and especially if it comes to them. As a plus, you can take orders from these individuals, effectively turning your job into that of a Doordash driver.
Effectively, waiters are the assistants of Chefs, often running back and forth between the Bar to gather ingredients or dispense food. It may seem monotonous, but keeping the crew fed is just another end of the bargain you have to uphold.
