The barber was a job where you cut people's hair, dyed it into outrageous colors and shaved beards. Aside from that, nothing else of importance was expected from you. The uselessness of this job was readily apparent, therefore it was discontinued.

Barber is now gimmick job available to latejoiners, with the same general unimportance and trivial responsbilities as before. There's always one slot for the job every round, and an extra one appears on Tuesdays. Of course, anyone, at any time, regardless of their actual job or the existence (or nonexistence) of an actual barber, can act as one simply by using the equipment in the Barbershop.

Barber magic 101

Haircut:

  • Buckle the customer to a barber chair.
  • Set your intent to help and aim for the head.
  • If they're wearing glasses or any type of headgear (mask, hat), remove the items.
  • Use a pair of scissors and select the desired hairstyle.
  • Choosing the bald option will retain their hair as a wig.

Shave:

  • Buckle the customer to a barber chair.
  • Set your intent to help and aim for the head.
  • If they're wearing glasses or any type of headgear (mask, hat), remove the items.
  • Use a razor blade and select the desired type of beard.

Hair coloring:

  • Fill a dye bottle at the hair dye dispenser.
  • Set your intent to help and aim for the head.
  • If the customer is wearing any type of headgear (mask, hat), remove the items.
  • Click on them with the bottle to dye their hair, including the beard.

Note: You obviously can't cut or shave non-existing hair! The EZ-Hairgrowth pill bottle (containing hairgrownium) solves this dilemma.
