Head Surgeon (discontinued job)
The Head Surgeon was once a head of staff in charge of managing medbay. Currently, a Head Surgeon spawns in medbay, either in box or medibot form.
The Head Surgeon job was removed because it was mostly useless, and the Research Director temporarily managed the medical section of the ship. Several features of Doctoring changed and the Medical Director took over.
The Head Surgeon job is now a possible gimmick role. They spawn with their favorite scalpel & circular saw combo, a set of scrubs instead of a crisp suit, and the same access as the Medical Director, with less authority and even less respect than before.
Coincidentally, HeadSurgeon is the name of Goonstation's IRC bot, which makes funny replies to people who address it by name. Its silly quotes can be found here.
