The game internally calls this the "pyro" style of firelock (by the way, these are actually called "firedoors" in the code), because it was made by an old admin named SLthepyro (though I don't know they were in fact an admin when this sprite got in the game), and the "closed" part is what it looks like when the lock is closed and preventing you from escaping a fire. As the man himself (this bee is based off a long-time admin) would say, "eat bugse". It is yet to be determined who made this sprite.
