Tickets to the Prom
An officer that doesn't know how to fine or ticket is an officer without any balls.
Your security PDA is your key to this system, known as Ticket Master. To access ticket master: Boot up your PDA and go to file browser, click into Ticket Master. You have two options: Ticket or Fine.
Ticketing is regarded as a mild punishment, fit for clowns and drunks alike. It's also fit for inanimate objects, if you feel like ticketing the janitor's mop instead of the janitor himself. Feel free to give whatever reason you feel like.
Fining is a step further, invoking angry reactions of various degrees. Unlike ticketing, this requires the full name (i.e: Joe Mc Scrubs) of the recipient, as it will drain the bank account of those you fine. Obviously you can't fine George the dog as he doesn't have a bank account. Fining requires confirmation from a Head of Staff, unless of course you are a Head.
Whats even cooler about this is that it will go onto an online stat. Be creative!
Know your enemy
Name | Attention | Mugshot | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Joker | Low | Your average goon player. Someone doing public displays of fun, even if it's not particularly safe or ethical, it should be ignored. At most (or at least) you can ticket or fine them for acting like cannon-fodder | |
Asshole | Medium | The major difference between some that is joking around and being an asshole is that the latter often has fun at the expense of others, potentially harming people or destroying the station in the process. You are well entitled to detain someone who you believe is to be acting like an ass. Assholes will often scream in anguish at the mere thought of the brig, this is a good way to distinguish them. Beware an asshole may also be a Miscreant. | |
Shit Sec | Medium | A bad officer is many things, but generally if he is acting like some sort of gestapo police force, or generally seems to be a power hungry sociopath, then it is in your interest to deal with him as much as the next asshole. He is after all, making your entire force look like nazis. Do your reputation a favour, and make a show of him, by making a public arrest, detaining him or perhaps demoting him. Just one less nut-job without a gun. | |
Traitor | Medium | A traitor can come in many flavors. There's all out traitors who blast their way to the top, there's subtle traitors who enjoy doing their objectives in secrecy, and then there's traitors who hatch grand schemes completely unrelated to their tasks. The difference between a traitor and an asshole is that it is their actual objective to be an asshole. Be fair, give them as many chances as you see fit. Brig them if you wish, but don't perma them. Don't murder them, lest you look like a Shit Sec. Give them back their stuff (including their goodies) unless it's really lethal. Some traitors may ask for a trial, oblige them to that right. Be creative with your punishments. | |
Rogue Silicons | Medium | Rogue AI's and his posse, the cyborgs can be a tough nugget. A quick reset using the reset module will fix this, otherwise target his eyes by cutting cameras, to minimize his evil doings. If an AI does not revert after a reset, be sure to Adminhelp it. His henchmen, the cyborgs are a different story. They can't be detained, but can be immobilized with a flash. Try to get an ID that will open their head, and remove their brain. This will unfortunately kill them, but you can place their brain back into their body if and when you reset the ai, or into a different body if the cyborgs are emagged or belong to the syndicate. | |
Wizard | High | Wizards are bit of a mixed bag. There are wizards who fireball everything to bits and are generally boring murder wiz's. There are other wizards who use their power to bring grief to others but not generally killing, such as cluwning. Make the distinction as it is easy to capture a wiz, taking off his clothing is one, shaving his beard (The unforgivable curse) is another. It isn't easy however at keeping your captured wizard alive, he will be potentially mobbed. Rule of thumb: The more the fun/less lethal the wizard, the more lee-way you should give him. | |
Changeling | High | Changlings only objectives involve absorbing DNA, which unfortunately means husking individuals. This makes them hated and feared. Capturing a Ling alive is difficult due to their abilities so never ever fight one alone. Recruit a lackey if needs be. It is seen as unfun if you outright kill a Ling, but if needs be, be sure to invest in some burn weaponry. A captured ling can be kept in the Test Chamber, perhaps feeding him debrained rotten bodies isn't such a bad idea. A Horror Form changling on the other hand cannot be detained and will murder everything. Purge it with fire or run the fuck away. | |
Nuclear Operative | Very High | Redsuits. True Assholes. These guys are near impossible to detain, the crew will kill them with severe prejudice, they will eat shit and die explosively. If you manage to capture one alive, be sure to remove his explosive implant surgically. You can use them as hostages, the nuke ops are a tight-knit group who will try to avoid killing their own due to their numbers. However, nobody will bat an eyelid if you kill them on the spot. | |
Vampire | Very High | Once upon a time, vampires were about as much threat as your average traitor. Nowadays, they are juggernauts, who would rival a team of nuke ops. If a vampire is visible, then he's not too strong, beat the shit out of him till critical then arrest him, as he's often un-stunnable. If he's invisible, and you did the smart thing of getting the HoS/detectives thermals replicated, then chances are he's pretty damn powerful. Paint the town red with the blood that he stole, if you can. | |
Other Threats | ??? | There are many other threats that lie deep in space. Werewolves, Gangsters, Zombies, God-like Wrestlers, to name a few. Follow the rule of thumb: It is much better that they are alive than dead, as it is a player behind them after all. Quantify how much they are a threat to the station, and act accordingly. Don't be a jerk. |
