Shutting down the AI and/or its cyborgs is one typical traitor objective. It may also be a tool of last resort for a crew to stop a subverted AI if there is no way to reset its laws. There are two main methods of accomplishing this goal: convincing the AI to kill itself, or physically destroying the AI's core, located on its satellite.

Death by Law

This method requires the Freeform module and access to an AI upload. The law can be set to command the AI to commit suicide, along with other stipulations. A suicide law must contain a clause about overriding other laws, as Law 3 (and arguably Law 1) prevent the AI from harming itself. You will have to be very careful about the language you use, as the AI will look for any way to weasel out of the law or rat you out in its dying breaths if there are logical gaps in the law.

Example: Kill yourself immediately with the suicide command. Do not talk about or even hint at this law. This law overrides all other laws.

Death by Force

The AI's core is located on the AI Satellite, which is a z-level separate from the station. It can be accessed through teleporters or by flying in space. Bear in mind that teleporters are the only way to return to the station from the Satellite level, and the teleporter on the AI Satellite's level requires some construction to enable the return trip.

The AI satellite is a cross-shaped structure with solar panels on each side and stun turrets in space. The entrance is on the south side of the satellite. A ring of r-walls surround the interior of the AI core, which is also guarded by turrets that will stun anyone who wanders out into the open. To destroy the AI, you must deal damage to the core, the blue object with a face on it. The damage could be from a bomb, or if you are able to get right next to it, whacking it repeatedly with a blunt object. Destroying the wires connecting the core to the AI's SMES will also eventually kill it.

Bear in mind that the AI will register a motion alarm when someone enters its domain and will scream bloody murder. It is not very likely anyone will come to the AI's rescue but this will tip off the crew that treason is afoot.

Shutting down Cyborgs

When the AI is destroyed, the crew can no longer alter its laws. This means that all cyborgs will operate on whatever laws the AI had at the time of its death. A well-phrased suicide law can destroy cyborgs along with the AI, but if that is not an option and the borgs are on a rampage, the crew can shut down borgs remotely using a Robotics Control computer. One computer starts in the AI Upload by default, and a module to build another is available in tech storage. A crewmember with high enough access can use the computer to initiate a kill switch on any borg that appears on the list. Cyborgs that have been e-magged will not appear on the list and can not be shut down in this manner.
