Don't be afraid to take some action and space a dude if they're presenting a major threat to the station, but fighting fire with fire for no appropriate reason just leaves everything in a raging inferno of pain and bad feelings. So you're a do-gooder trying to get back at those traitors for stabbing your coworkers, stealing your credits, and generally being incredibly rude. Or maybe you're just someone who wants to try and survive against their infinite array of weapons and tactics. While experience plays a large factor in dealing with traitorous activities, this page contains some general guidelines that should help make your life a little easier when the Syndicate comes to town.
Know Your Enemy
The single best defense you have against a traitor is knowledge. The more you know about the capabilities and diversity of the traitor's arsenal, the better you'll be able to formulate countermeasures against it. Read up on their wide variety of special equipment, take a peek over at the Being A Better Traitor page, and play a few traitor rounds of your own. That being said, be sure that your knowledge doesn't cross over into metagaming territory, and don't be overly defensive and paranoid. No one likes a person who throws around accusations of traitorous deeds left and right.
Stay Vigilant
The bystander effect is heavily amplified in the depths of space, and all too often, murder and other heinous crimes are met with a dismissive scoff. If someone starts screaming that they're being attacked over the radio, try to get security's attention or try to investigate yourself. If dead bodies start piling up, there's probably someone (or something) making them pile up. If someone's running around and not speaking so much as a single word to anyone ever, ask them what they're doing. Keep your wits about you; even if you're not security, that doesn't mean that you can't help out!
