Menus and Advertisement

A bartender thrives on social interaction. We want people to order our fun drinks. But how do we get people to approach the bar? The best way to get people to order our fun drinks is to write them on a menu so people know what we have. We need a pen and some paper. We can typically find paper in either our office or the crew quarters. There is a pen stored in our PDA.

We want to balance variety and conciseness to ensure our customer finds what they desire quickly. I keep my menu to one page so customers can see the whole thing without scrolling. It's also a good idea to break your menu into sections of related drinks. I recommend checking out the pages on text formatting. Our customers range from the puritanical sober to the suicidal alcoholic, so make sure you have drinks that can please either one.

But a plain piece of paper doesn't catch the eye. What can we do to draw attention to our menus? The label maker can be found in places where we find paper. We can use the label maker on our menus to change the name of the item from "paper" to whatever you want. Try writing the name of your bar or just simply "Drink Menu." You can get a pack of assorted stickers from the spacebux menu before the start of the round. They can be added to your menus for a cute pop of color. Crayons are great for writing advertisements on the floor. Pay the clown with your tip money to write something in vibrant color with arrows pointing to the bar.

Chemistry

Welding fuel is a common ingredient for many fun chemicals, you can find fuel tanks in the public pod bay.

Cocktail shakers count as closed containers.

Kondaru and Donut 3 have kitchen fountains with extra food chemicals.

If you don't know what to order from Botany, chillis, mint, coffee, and weed are all fun things to make drinks with. Botanists typically enjoy supplying Chef and sometimes forget the bartender so make sure you go introduce yourself.

Spacecleaner (3 ethanol, 3 water, 3 hydrogen, 1 nitrogen) is super quick to make and essential for cleaning the bar when the janitor is not around.

Unethical Life Hacks

Your gun's knockback is pretty funny when you knock someone into a glass table or vending machine. There is a good spot on cog1 where you can do this from behind the bar.

Floorpills are an easy addition to elevate any plain drinks. You can find them in maintenance or the spacediner.

Ethanol mixed with other toxin-damaging poisons can be difficult to treat due to charcoal (primary treatment for toxin damage) reacting with ethanol to create antihol instead.
