The Liber Mortis

Welcome to the book of death, the galaxy's number one encyclopedia on funeral related procedures.

Funerary Methods

These are a few preset funeral methods used when a preferred method is not specified. You can choose your preferred method from the choice below, or write your own.

Generic Funerals

:These will be applied upon request, or unless no other option is available

Spacer’s Funeral

The body is placed in a casket, and dressed in an EVA suit. A eulogy is given by the chaplain unless requested otherwise. Upon conclusion of the eulogy, the casket is closed, and the body is launched into space, to drift forever.

Terran Funeral

The body is placed in a casket, and dressed in either a suit or dress as appropriate. Eulogy proceeds in the same way as Spacer’s funeral. Body is cremated.

Delayed Funeral

Funeral proceeds are exactly like the Terran funeral, except the body is stored in the morgue, and carried to centcom in a casket at shift end.

Department Specific Funerals

These will be provided as default depending on department

Engineer’s Funeral [May be chosen by all engineering department staff except cargo]

Body is dressed in an engineering uniform, and eulogy is given by the chaplain and CE, if present. Engineering team will then transport the body to the station’s burn chamber, where it will be cremated, so as to return the Engineer to the carbon they once came from. On stations with a singularity, the body will be thrown there instead. On stations with neither, or if access is impossible, the body will be cremated in the crematorium.

Scientists Funeral [May be chosen by scientists and geneticists]

Body is dressed in a science uniform, and given a space GPS. Eulogy is given by the chaplain and RD, if present. The body will then be transported to Telescience, where it will be teleported to an unexplored or partially explored Azone, so that the scientist may continue exploration even in death.

Quartermaster’s Funeral [QMs only]

Body is dressed in cargo uniform. Eulogy is given by the chaplain. Body is to be placed inside a cargo crate rather than a casket. Crate is to include full wages and bank accounts paid to the QM that round. Body is to be subsequently sold via Cargo’s export chute.

Officer’s Funeral [Any head may request this instead of departmental funeral, will be automatically applied to HoP, HoS, and Security]

Body is to be dressed in uniform, and placed inside a casket. Eulogy is to be given by chaplain and commanding officer, if present. Service is to conclude with a 21 taser/phaser/gun salute, given by all personnel present with firearms. Body is to be launched as standard.

Captain’s Funeral

Body is to be dressed in uniform, and placed inside a casket. Eulogy is to be given by the chaplain as well as any present heads. Body is to be carried for one lap around the station before being launched, with a procession of crew behind it.

Antagonist Funerals

These are to be applied at the chaplain and security team’s discretion. Not all antagonists must receive these funeral procedures. These can not be selected as a preference

Quarantine Funeral [Changeling, Vampire]

Body is to be cremated without fanfare or procession, as quickly as possible. Only staff present are to be medical, chaplain, and security.

Traitor’s Funeral [Traitor, Spy, Sleeper, Conspirator]

Body’s eyes and brain are to be removed, so that they will suffer a traitor's punishment in the afterlife. Body is to be given no casket, and instead wrapped in a linen sheet. Body is then to be launched with no eulogy, and with only security, command, and chapel personnel present.
