Whether or not you see it at this size can depend on how potent your crops are, but it is the default for most hydroponics crops. Mentioning the file size helps keep things orderly, have you seen how bad a list of plants with different image sizes can look? It's a nice size, used a lot throughout the game - especially since that's the size of a tile. This means it goes nicely listed along with many other items, as opposed to using images whose dimensions are "to-fit". That causes a weird shaking left-to-right sort of appearance.
