Nanotrasen's Board of Thirteen
Executive Board
John Nanotrasen
Chairman of the Board, Spokesperson & Corporate Personhood
Office: CENTCOM, Varick/Romulus NY
Ms. Katherine Blanchard
Vice Chair & Executive Secretary
Home Office: National Notary, Annapolis MD
Mr. Bodie Frosch, VII
Treasurer & Chief Technical Officer
Home Office: Tradecraft Seneca, Romulus, NY
Board of Directors
Thad Davies
Chief Marketing Officer & Director of Human Resources
Home Office: Seneca Falls Staffing Solutions, Seneca Falls NY
Biological Age (Synchronized Earth Time): 55
Thad Davies, born in 1999, grew up in Macon, Georgia. Thad grew up within a tight-knit
community, learning values of camaraderie and hospitality but dreaming of the stars. As a young adult Thad pursued an Associates in Hospitality
Management degree thru the Lunaport Correspondence School. During Thad's in-person graduation ceremony at the Museum of Lunar History, a Nanotrasen recruiter offered him a 'dream job.' He only need sign a few documents, meet at a certain address and step into a cryo-sleeper that very evening. Expecting a sleep study, Thad was quite surprised to reawaken a year later on NT Space Station 06 as a staff assistant.
Terrible food, incomprehensible work expectations, strange-tasting water and endless barren metal corridors distressed the
outgoing and outdoorsy Davies. In a rebellious strike, Thad Davies brought on bottles of forbidden alcohol and
created a ramshackle bar in a hidden alcove between maintenance tunnels. Sporting a bowtie and waistcoat, he served cocktails to the crew for a
few months until he was eventually caught and detained by the station's hated Vice Officer. This sparked off a crew-vs-command riot which was only defused when Davies agreed to fight Head of Personnel A. Trenton in an improvised wrestling cage. Davies lost. Badly.
However, when the Regional Director read up on the incident, she decided to offer him an opportunity as a Morale Officer with a modest budget to direct towards modest workplace reforms and initiatives. Mr. Davies targeted many areas that contributed to modestly higher quality-of-life. Chefs and newly hired bartenders were offered a larger selection of ingredients and tools. Station chaplains, once consigned to work in a gloomy warehouse container with more coffins than benches, were much better furnished to accommodate all manner of faiths and crew sizes. Decorative shrubs were installed where cobwebs once gathered. His outreach deal with the Pallas Society for the Preservation of Space Owls and such crew favorites as Bring your Chicken to Work Day greatly brightened the moods of staff on distant stations.
Following the death of HR Director A. Trenton in 2048 to an ill-advised wrestling stunt, Mr. Davies proclaimed himself to be the Head of the Heads of Personnel (HoHoP) and claimed Trenton's seat. The paperwork seemed to be completely in order and the pool of Regional Directors and HoP's below him expressed 85.67% confidence in his move. As Davies' was already a valuable asset who had reversed years of faltering recruitment and retention metrics, the Board grudgingly agreed. Thad holds a controversial position within the Board, as the modification of command and station structures holds a large cost and diverts both funding and attention from their own domains.
"I'm a strong believer in community," he commented. "But we aren't ants. We need to know that Nanotrasen Cares. So I want to give back to you, the crew of Nanotrasen. My family!"
Marquessa Millicent Von Bürg, EUR ING, MD, DMSC, DS, DSc honoris causa
Chief Health Officer & Director of Cyber Resources
Head Office: Von Bürg School of Cybermedicine, Bürg Crater, Luna
Biological Age (Synchronized Earth Time): 56
Marquessa Von Bürg is a pioneering figure in cyborg development and cybermedicine. The heiress to an obscure line of Viennese nobility, she used her family wealth to fund the creation of a medical research center at Bürg Crater on Luna with her late partner. She splits her time between her position as Dean and Professor Emeritus at the Von Bürg School of Cyber Medicine, Seneca boardrooms, and lecture circuits across the globe to ensure the integration, advancement, and edification of the principals of which she helped establish. Marquessa Von Bürg is known as one of the trailblazers of modern prosthetics and neural networking. When her duties provide time, she is a patron of numerous charities and chair of her own personal charity, the Von Bürg Excellence in Adversity Grant, seeking to provide lethally-injured individuals of advanced talent with ongoing employment and educational opportunities.
Professor Von Bürg has always had a 'never stop, never settle' attitude since a young age. Her father Marquis Gustav von Bürg once said warmly that by the age of 12 she had already exceeded his studies in astronomy. Her mother Marquessa Lódi von Bürg encouraged young Millicent's interests in hobby robotics. Millicent travelled to the ill-fated Lake Erie Technological Exposition of 1981 and lost her left arm when Hafgan's MULE prototype ran amuck. She designed her own cyber-prosthetic replacement arm as a masters thesis project.
When asked to describe herself in one word, she stated primly, "Operational." with one of her trademark slight smiles. In her spare time, Professor Von Burg enjoys spending time with her recently born granddaughter, mentoring students one-on-one who show exceptional promise, and the collection of Yamato-e art, a passion she got from her deceased partner. Her three children and newly born grand daughter will also point out, to her slight contention, that she also loves to visit amusement parks. You might just run into her there.
When asked for advice she would give to any future medical aspirants, Professor Burg without hesitation stated:
"Find your passion and hold it tight. There is no dream impossible, there is no goal unreachable. Always move forward and never allow doubt to demotivate you."
Colonel "Mild Bill" Williams
- Chief of Security
Biological Age (Synchronized Earth Time): 66
As a young street cop from the mild streets of Geneva NY, Bill's first assignment was working event security for the Y2K Geneva
Agritech Convention, an event dedicated to the growing challenges of Lunar cultivation. Bill made acquaintances with such luminaries as
Beatrice Ainley (Aninley Orchards & Apiaries), George Burbank (Gardengear), and Wallace Jam (Lunaport) who encouraged his interests in space travel.
Early career notes:
- Corrections Officer at the newly opened Five Points supermax prison. Received training in riot control tactics.
- Recruited as Lunaport Public Safety Officer by Administrator Wallace Jam
- Promoted to Lunaport Senior Safety Officer by Admin W. Jam
- Transferred to the Lansberg Prison in Lansberg Crater, Luna
The Mars Years The now Lt. Williams was taken hostage during the Lansberg Prison Uprising and went MIA. He reappeared several years later in a greasy diner on Phobos, with several gang tattoos and little memory of the years in-between. Many lunar troublemakers, gamblers and roustabouts seemed to know him on a first-name basis, but he had little memory of why. Former Lt. Williams worked briefly as a longshoreman in BCB's brew-port at Mars' own Beer Crater but he was fired for diverting products to a certain ``Assistant Thad Davies``. Bill headed west to spend a few years at a moonshining outpost at Ubud Crater, then onwards to work security for a motorcycle club in the rough-and-tumble Aureum Chaos region. He was there when the Martians rose up. He was there when the barricades fell. He'll often retell the story of when the Marties overran their position, wistfully remembering his many lost "bruds." He joined the Mars Auxiliary Defense Legion, Aureum District (MADLADs), and as Warrant Officer Williams proved himself to be a fearsome and fearless scrapper through the hard years ahead.
Due to his reputation and his old connections, he was recruited by Nanotrasen as Security Attache to the Hieng Expedition of 2031.
- Head of Security, NSS Valiant 2031-2034
MIA after the battles of Regis-Mors 2034, left adrift in a jettisoned cryogenic sleeper pod for the next decade. When his sleeper eventually crashed outside the construction site for NT Outpost Theta, he was found holding Mr. Beepsky Sr. within his coat, hibernating together the whole time. The two helped to deter hostile wildlife while the construction team worked.
Spent time at Ainsley Staff Center recuperating.
- Promoted to Deputy Chief of Security, Frontier Division, stationed at Space Station 10.
- Took over for 'Five-Fingers Devlin' when the old Five Points facility was annexed into Centcom.
Professional rival of Commodore Roland Yee.
Commodore Roland Yee
- Chief of Fleet Operations
Home Office: LORAN-C Transmitter Facility, Romulus NY.
Grew up in an off-grid survivalist’s cabin in Monongahela National Forest, an adopted child raised by retired Signals instructor Roger “Roger That” Yee and Ordnance instructor Jim “Cannon” Roland from the old Elkins base in the West Virginia Maneuver Area.
As a child he enjoyed scrambling up the 13th Army Corps’s old assault climbing trails at Seneca Rocks. Tinkering with old radio dishes and amplifiers and parts from unexploded munitions, he could enjoy late-night scifi radio dramas and cryptid stories from deep inside the Allegheny Quiet Zone. Li'l Yee with his stacks of well-worn field handbooks would often roleplay leading a commando squad of local wildlife against such foes as the legendary Mothman.
- Highly skilled navigator and radio operator
- Undertook SERE training for ‘Self-improvement’
- Self-described ‘Howitzer Connoisseur’
Moved to Bellona NY start an independent consulting and engineering firm designing futuristic weaponry and tactical courses to pitch to the new Lunar security forces. His business was quickly bought out by Nanotrasen. Recruited by NT, Yee was cryogenically frozen for long-term flight to the contentious Asteroid Belt operational district. Unfortunately, Yee's cryo-sleeper shuttle was sent to the wrong planetoid due to a terrible filing accident, and he remained frozen for ten years in an orbital warehouse. As part of a legal settlement for this wronging, he was appointed to be the Tactical Liason for the Hieng Expedition of 2031 and soon promoted to captain of the NSS Valiant. Critically wounded in the battles of REGIS-MORS 2034, Yee was once again cryogenically frozen again for most of a decade. After thawing and recovery, he quickly became a lead instructor at Outpost Xi (aka FIGHT SCHOOL).
Now the high commodore of Nanotrasen's fleet of stations and ships, though it's mostly a desk job. Professional rival of Mild Bill Williams
Dr. Horace Keuka Jam and Dr. Willard Benton Jam (MIA)
Head Researchers - seat currently vacant (now an At-Large position)
HK Jam: Director of Material Sciences
WB Jam: Director of Life Sciences
These twin brothers shared a board seat once held by their father, the esteemed Administrator Wallace Jam. Each held half of a vote.
They have been declared Missing in Action.
Head Offices - Wallace Jam Institute of Exo-Archaeology, Wallace Crater, Luna.
Jam Castle Winery and Estates at Glass Factory Bay, Geneva NY.

THE OVERBEE
Honorary Member
``Home Office: The Hiveship, Frontier - Royal Rings District``
The OVERBEE's past is not documented, and any stories or knowledge of it don't reach any
credibility beyond anecdotes of fringe researchers and melittologists. Some say that the
OVERBEE was a research director's pet bee that was lost to the Void, until one day it simply
buzzed back out of another dimensional fissure. Some theorize that the OVERBEE was always flying
around the Frontier long before Nanotrasen began their research into plasma, waiting to meet us.
What is known about the OVERBEE is that she has many anomalous properties. This bee is royalty, and she knows it. The OVERBEE is unexplainably sapient and will bargain and accepting gifts from researchers and emissaries, so long as they remain polite and respectful. Those that threatened, poked or prodded too much at the OVERBEE or dared to pluck a fur sample under were violently translocated into surrounding space.
Beatrice Ainley (Ainley Orchards & Apiaries), George Burbank (Gardengear) and Baroness Moira de Bonkyll (GeneTek) were geniuses of their time, pioneering new technologies of botanical and human genome modification and plant cloning techniques. However, their interests in human cloning would have only been pipedreams had it not been for the OVERBEE. Ainley's history with bees and apiaries allowed her to placate the queen and gain enough rapport with her colony to establish a trade pact, offering a luxury space yacht and an ongoing supply of rainbow melons for precious royal honey - the crucial resource needed in the Ainley-Burbank-deBonkyll Cloning Method. Without the OVERBEE, humanity's foothold in the Frontier would have been doomed by constant attrition.
In addition to her odd powers of intelligence and manipulation of matter, the OVERBEE seems to have a psychic affinity with all space bees, even the hives of other queens. She detests all those who are known to have harmed her brethren. The OVERBEE holds an honorary seat at the Nanotrasen Board, though she is only summoned in matters of great importance. She prefers to spend her days lazing about her hiveship behind the dumpsters of a sleazy Space Diner.
Board Member at Large
Elected, rotating positions overseeing Frontier interests
``Home Office: NT Outpost Alpha at Port Roerich, Iusitia``
